to a mall near you...or actually, he has probably been there since Halloween! :)
Sorry I haven't had much time to blog and blog-read, just been a little on the busy side the last few weeks. :) Alright, so I was tagged by Maegan and figured I would join in the Reindeer Games with this little survey...sorry it's not more interesting or exciting.
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot Chocolate. Eggs freak me out…the idea of them send me over the edge. So eggs and “nog”…no thanks!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree?
Wraps
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
If I have them up I like the white.
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
No.
5. When do you put your decorations up?
Never because I have like 6 items still out for the last 2 Christmases…comes in handy for Christmas in July! :D
6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? We don’t have one…the dysfunction of the family kept us from having any sort of holiday preparations, traditions, special dinners, brunches or anything like that.
7. Favorite Holiday
Memory As A Child?
Watching all the Christmas shows like Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Nestor The Long-Earred Christmas Donkey, Charlie Brown Christmas, Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas, etc.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
Hmmmm, I am not really sure how old I was.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Not unless I am with Vik and Mike.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?
White lights on the inner part and colored on the outer branches, ornaments and garlands. …all this is, of course, only when I actually do out a tree up.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
Both…..love the idea of a good snow on Christmas or Christmas Eve…somehow feels magical.
12. Can you ice skate?
Haven’t tried in years but used to go all the time.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
Not sure…I really don’t have many memories to reflect on.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
Giving gifts to people as a token of my gratitude for having them in my life. Also, to give to those who are less fortunate and don’t have anyone their to share the holiday with.
15. What is your favorite Holiday
Dessert?
See #6 above and Ditto what Maegan said: “I don't have one. In fact, I don't think we have a traditional Christmas dessert in our family. I may just have to start one!”
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Spending Christmas Eve at Vik and Mike’s and Mikey’s signature Christmas Eve appetizer, Pizza Bread”…I look forward to it all year long and now with Lia Ashley on the scene I am just besides myself to see her in action when Santa comes to town!
17. What tops your tree?
If I had one it would be an Angel or a Star…depends on the mood.
18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving?
Giving…..hands down my favorite thing.
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song?
The Nutcracker Suite….doesn’t matter who performs it, I just *love* it.
20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?
How about “Yumck”….it’s sort of both for me! I like the peppermint but only briefly…a quick taste or to I love but anything more than that seems like overkill.

Cookie Swap:
This weekend was our cookie swap...thanks to our delightful, Kim, I made the most delicious Fudgy Chocolate Cookie Sandwiches with a wicked mint buttercreasm filling...simply mouthwatering! Thanks for the recipes Kim! I used this label on quart sized paint cans in which I packed the cookies and tied off with pretty and festive ribbons.
Everything here is by Michelle Coleman at Scrap Artist. I used the Sweet Evangeline & Merry Little Christmas kits.
Tis The Season Of Giving…
so why not give back to the community and those that need it the most?!?!?
This was also the weekend for the annual Christmas Party that Barbie puts together for a local boys' home...each year the party gets better and better and this year was certainly no exception. The boys had some special surprise guests aside from the usual visit from a gift bearing Santa Claus...there was Darryl McDaniels, the *DMC* of the infamous RunDMC...he spoke to the kids, signed autographs and posed for pictures with all the kids...he was nothing short of amazing with his heartfelt speech and inspirational words - if only more people would reach out to the kids and tell them what's really important in life, the world would be a much better place for so many people.
Then there was also a visit by 3 of the NY Giants: Brandon Jacobs #27, David Diehl #66 & Seth Seubert #69. Again, the kids were thrilled and enjoyed the time spent getting their photos taken and getting autographs.
