in principle, then you need at least one of these tee shirts.
All proceeds from the sales of the above tee is going to a rescue in Memphis, TN by the name of Hearts Of Gold Pit Rescue. The founder and friends of this group are dear friends of mine and so if you could be so kind to take a peek at what they do and have done for those in need, it would be greatly appreciated. If a tee isn't your speed and you would be so inclined, a small (or large if you are feeling especially generous) is most welcome. For this I would thank you from the bottom of my heart.
And, if you don't agree with me, that's fine too but, I would respectfully ask that you not return to my blog as I have no desire to fraternize with anyone who agrees, condones or perpetuates the act of thrusting innocent & voiceless victims into a world of brutality, torture & violence. Anyone involved in any such acts is not only without a soul but a coward....I have no sympathy for any such person and wish them all that karma will (hopefully sooner than later) reign down....my only hope for any such cowardly cretan is that they one day feel the pain and despair the victims have and do. Don't even try to talk to me about age old practices and being deeply rooted in southern tradition...this is where bulls*%t walks. When you know better you do better. PERIOD.
Ordinarily, this blog doesn't see the dog rescue work we have done and continue to do but this entry needed to be posted. Being involved in any animal rescue operation puts you face to face with the absolute worst that mankind has to offer and, just when you think you have seen and heard the absolute cruelest, sickest and most demoralizing acts against the innocent, along comes another case that shatters that last horror you had to face. What keeps you going though is the amazing ability of these animals to forgive and find a way to trust any human being ever again...it's baffling and the most amazing experience.
It's been years that we have been fighting the good fight for the voiceless. It's an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. Not a day goes by that I am not horrified by heinous and aggregious acts but, truth be told, it's the happy endings that keep you going. Unfortunately, sometimes a happy ending means death with dignity via euthanasia.
All I know is that I could live no other way...and, should the day ever come that I don't feel the outrage, well, that's going to be the day I am dead, and if I am not, I have already asked my friends to make sure that's the day they do me in because I don't want to live a hollow life without compassion or empathy.
Please take the time today to help wherever you can, no matter the cause. Just please, step outside and lend a helping hand however you can, you WILL change a life, guaranteed.
Well said Jaynie Baby. I too hope that karma will prevail for Vick, sooner rather than later. He has so many greedy bastards behind him that see him as a huge dollar sign. Hopefully they too will be taught a lesson from this.

I couldn't agree MORE! I hope they come in youth sizes (for me-not a kid!)...off to check them out. This whole even has really sickened me....I know this sounds totally crazy but I really felt like I should apologize to my dogs for the cruelty of humans. Their eyes hold nothing but love and there are no words for the cowards that use that against them.

Jayne I am so proud of what you do girl. You have such a big and strong heart and I love you for that!! I share your feeling and have similar ones for people that also treat other humans in these ways as well.
Sean and I were just talking about an animal cops episode he watched on the animal planet channel the other day. He was amazed that people actually do fight dogs.... it's tough growing up sometimes and learning things like that :(

YES, I totally agree! Our cats were both rescued and they are the sweetest things ever. Every animal deserves to be loved and cared for in a nurturing home.
Did you hear about that football player that got busted for having a dog fighting ring? Ha! I hope he has a lovely time in jail. ;)
